Just a thought. What kind of parallels, if any, can you draw between this and "Ceremony"? You know, that book we read way back when. I think it's interesting because I noticed that there are some similarities, but I want to hear your perspective.
I noticed that both stories are cyclical rather than chronological. The events in both books aren't always put in the order that they happened, but they're placed based on their significance to the stories.
One similarity which I have noticed is that both books deal with the effects of war on people. In The Things They Carried the characters are forced to fight and must therefore cope with the stress brought on by the fighting. Ceremony also deals with stress brought on by war, especially in Tayo (if you guys can actually remember him).
